English football legend Michael Owen, Premier League superstar and Ballon d'Or winner, will make a cameo appearance in the upcoming film "El Hareefa: Al Remontada".
Owen is currently in Egypt to film his scenes in the pic and was keen to tour the pyramids and the Great Sphinx of Giza during the ongoing visit before the shooting.
"El Hareefa: Al Remontada" is the follow-up to the film "El Hareefa".
In February, the pic received the sequel treatment following its massive performance at the domestic box office that reached EGP 75 million.
The follow-up features original cast members Nour El Nabawy, Ahmed Ghozzi, Kozbra, Abdulrahman Mohamed, Salim El Turk, Khaled El Zahaby, and more.
Asmaa Galal and Asser Yassin are also set to guest star in the pic.
The original film follows Majed, who is forced to leave his high-end life and move from a private school to a public school. Over time, he gains the respect of his classmates with his football skills.
The sequel follows El Hareefa's decision to achieve their dream together after winning the championship in the first part.
The footage shows the team entering the university and being blown away by their new surrounding. It also sees the gang returning to playing football and being introduced to the idea pf sports teams can have both males and females.
"El Hareefa: Al Remontada" is scripted by Eiad Saleh, directed by Karim Saad, and produced by Tarek El Ganainy.
