On Wednesday, a telephone call took place between Badr Abdel-Atty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, and Dr. Fuad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, within the framework of ongoing consultation and coordination between the two countries on ways to strengthen bilateral relations and discuss regional issues of common interest.
Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the two ministers affirmed during the call their pride in the deep historical relations between Egypt and Iraq, and the keenness of both sides to continue developing joint cooperation in the economic, investment and development fields.
The call also addressed developments in the Gaza Strip.
