Florida police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of American wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, who passed away in late July, despite the official announcement that he died of a heart attack.
In a statement reported by Rolling Stone, the police department clarified that the investigation remains open due to “the particular nature of the case.” Detectives have interviewed several witnesses, requested medical records from various sources, and continue to gather information.
Authorities stressed that no evidence of foul play has been found so far but assured that Hogan’s family will be fully briefed on the findings before the case is closed and made public.
The update follows a statement from Hogan’s daughter, Brooke, who voiced doubts about the official narrative on Instagram. She revealed that she had received calls from nurses and police officers who were present at the scene, claiming that certain details in police bodycam footage and emergency call records could “change the course of the story.”
Brooke added that her concern is compounded by her lack of legal authority in the matter, noting that all decisions are restricted to her father’s wife. “My hands are tied. I can’t do anything, even as his daughter,” she wrote.
Hogan, one of professional wrestling’s most iconic stars during the 1980s and 1990s, had long battled chronic health issues, including atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia, which may have contributed to his sudden passing.
Police have not provided a timeline for when the investigation will be concluded or the findings made public. The case remains open amid growing tension between the official account and the suspicions raised by Hogan’s family.
