The torrential rains caused by exceptionally heavy rain flooded the roads and streets of the city of Jeddah, swept away dozens of cars and caused extensive damage to many homes in the province in western Saudi Arabia, killing at least two people.

Videos circulated on social media showed torrential rains in residential neighborhoods such as Al-Nuzha and Al-Zahra neighborhoods, and the massive destruction that affected a large number of cars, as rain water covered some of them and washed away others.

Citizens' cries rose through social media calling on local emergency teams to intervene to rescue those stuck in their cars for hours.

The concerned authorities at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah called on travelers to contact airlines to confirm their flight schedules after the delay of many flights due to bad weather.
