Flamengo claimed their fourth Copa Libertadores title after defeating fellow Brazilian side Palmeiras 1–0 in Saturday’s final at Estadio Centenario in Lima, Peru.

Danilo scored the decisive goal in the 67th minute to secure the prestigious South American crown.

Palmeiras had reached the final after a historic comeback, overturning a 3–0 first-leg loss to Ecuador’s LDU Quito with a stunning 4–0 win in the return match.

Flamengo, meanwhile, advanced by holding Racing Club to a goalless draw in the second leg, preserving their 1–0 advantage from the first match.

Flamengo will now face Mexico’s Cruz Azul, champions of the CONCACAF Champions Cup, in the “Americas Derby” at the upcoming FIFA Intercontinental Cup in Qatar this December.

Furthermore, the Brazilian side secured their spot at the upcoming edition of FIFA Club World Cup in 2029.

Pyramids FC have already secured a spot in the semifinals after a historic win over Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, earning the title of the Three Continents Cup champions.

Their next match is scheduled for December 13 in Qatar, where they will meet the winner of the Libertadores champion (Palmeiras or Flamengo) vs. Cruz Azul clash.
