This morning, the activities of the first conference and exhibition of the green economy started in the southern Upper Egypt region in Luxor Governorate.
The conference is organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization “UNIDO”, within the framework of its project “Inclusive Green Growth in Egypt” to support the green and circular economy in Luxor and Qena through development mechanisms market system.
The conference will highlight the role of innovation and the private sector in promoting inclusive green growth, as well as stimulating market linkages and building partnerships between various actors in the fields of the green economy.
The conference is an opportunity to introduce many green companies and enhance the dialogue among them and with policymakers.
The conference came as part of the preparation for the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 27), to be held next November in Sharm El-Sheikh.
The UN organization stressed that this event represents a step toward the transition to a green economy through innovation, financing, market linkages, support for green value chains, and the building of green clusters.
