An aid group revealed that a massive fire destroyed 20 tonnes of clothes and blankets donated in Greece for war-hit Ukrainian refugees.

The fire broke out in a storage area outside the Peace and Friendship indoor stadium near the port of Piraeus, the fire department added.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has announced that Greece will provide Ukraine with more weapons, triggering the opposition’s reaction which said there was no prior notification from the government about such a move.

At the end of February, Greece sent military aid to Ukraine, more specifically Kalashnikov rifles and portable rocket launchers.

In a late-night address on Thursday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said: “The catastrophic unfolding events could be still stopped if the world treated the situation in Ukraine as if it were facing the same situation if the powers that be did not play around with Russia but really pressed to end the war.”
