Finally, Fairmont Hotel Talks about Gang Rape Allegations

After months, the Fairmont Nile City Hotel expressed its readiness for cooperating with the relevant authorities in case of an official investigation, opened in a gang-rape allegation.

In a statement, the luxurious hotel said: "We are aware of and have been following the online discussion concerning an incident that may have taken place during a third party event hosted at our property in 2014."

The hotel said it has been in touch with the relevant groups circulating the posts to offer support and assistance.

What Is The Story?

According to social media accounts, the alleged rape story happened in the five-star hotel in Cairo in 2014, when six men raped a young woman after putting a drug called GHB in her drink.

The six harassers captured a video of the incident and wrote their initials on her body.

Many social media accounts revealed the names and pictures of the six harassers, who hail from elite families. Their names are Amr El Sedawy, Omar Hafez, Amr Hussein, Khaled Mahmoud, and Amr El Komy.

The case raised nowadays as a new #MeToo wave raged social media platforms, especially after Ahmed Bassam Zaki case.

No official investigation has been launched so far, as tweets went viral under the hashtag #FairmontIncident.
