The release date for Egyptian actor Mohamed Ramadan's film "Assad" (Lion) has been released.

In an interview with "ON" TV Channel, Ramadan has revealed the film is set to premiere in the cinemas during the Eid al-Adha movie marathon.

He added that "Assad" preparations took 3 years and led to his absence from the small screen because it "required full focus ", and we were almost done shooting.

The cast also includes Maged El Kedwany, Razane Jammal, ‎Ahmed Khaled Saleh, and more.

Written and directed by Mohamed Diab, "Assad" is a historical action thriller feature set in 1280 AD in the Mamluk era.

In the film, Ramadan portrays Ali bin Muhammad Al-Farsi, who is sold in the slave market and later on, leads the revolution against the Abbasid army.

While the 39-year-old actor has been absent from the small and big screens, he is gearing up to make his long-awaited comeback with the TV show "Madfaa Ramadan," which will air on the "DMC" TV Channel during Iftar.

Madfaa Ramadan

Ramadan, born on May 23, 1988, began acting while at school.

He launched his career with small roles in TV series like “The Cinderella” until he had his big break in Yousry Nasrallah’s film “Ehky Ya Sharazad” (Tell me, Shahrazad).

Ramadan then went on to star in blockbusters produced by the famous Egyptian producers Mohamed and Ahmed El Sobky, which made him one of the most valuable actors in the Middle East.

He began exploring rap in the past years and releasing music videos for his singles.
