On Thursday, the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) revealed the logo for the next World Cup in 2026, to be held jointly between Canada, the United States, and Mexico.

The Organizing Committee for the 2026 World Cup presented the official logo of the tournament during a ceremony held today, Thursday, at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, with the participation of FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

The Brazilian football icon Ronaldo, former Mexico goalkeeper Jorge Campos, as well as former Canadian goalkeeper Craig Forrest and US national team player Carli Lloyd, participated in the ceremony.

It is noteworthy that for the first time, the championship logo includes a real picture of the World Cup, and it is scheduled to display later 16 logos for the cities hosting the largest tournament in the world football.

Earlier, last March, the FIFA Council approved the 2026 World Cup formula with the new system, with 12 groups consisting of four teams, that is, with the participation of 48 national teams, for the first time in the history of the competition.

The Federation stated on its official website that 48 teams will participate in the final part of the 2026 World Cup, not 32, as was the case during the previous tournament in the Qatar World Cup.
