Activists on social media circulated a video clip on Thursday, in which a Russian traffic policeman arrested a drunk driver in the region of Birobidzhan in the Russian Far East.
The video shows a police officer sitting on the hood, trying to stop the drunk driver, but the man refused to obey the orders and continued driving, making the policeman fall to the ground and break his arm.
Eventually, the police man forced the driver, 36-year-old, to stop.
Investigations indicated that the driver’s license has been withdrawn, last September, for the same reason, driving under the influence of alcohol.
The young man committed a crime under Article 318 of Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (using violence against the government officials), which means he may face a 10-year prison sentence.
