The Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho has signed a twelve-month contract extension with his Premier League club Manchester City on Tuesday.
The 34-year-old player's contract will expire in June 2020 as he signed another one- year deal to extend his stay at Etihad Stadium till 2021.
On his part, the Brazilian international thanked all his teammates for their support.
“This is the best possible news. I want to take this opportunity to put on record how grateful I am to my teammates and the backroom staff here at City. Without them, this deal would not be possible, so sincere thanks to every single one of them," Fernandinho said according to Man City's official website.
“I have enjoyed every second of my time here. I never expected to build such a meaningful relationship with the Club and the fans, but it has happened, and I am grateful every single day.
Fernandinho joined the Citizens in the 2013-14 season from Ukrainian's Shakhtar Donetsk as he made 299 appearances with Man City in all the competitions.
He lifted three Premier League titles with the Citizens, four EFL Cups and a FA Cup title.
