FC Barcelona have reportedly reached an agreement with head coach Hansi Flick over a contract extension, according to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.
The report states that an agreement was finalized through Flick’s agent Pini Zahavi to extend the German coach’s deal by an additional season until 2028, with an optional extra year linked to sporting objectives that could keep him at the club until 2029.
The breakthrough reportedly came after several meetings involving Zahavi, Barcelona president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco, with the final details of the agreement settled during the latest round of talks.
Barcelona vice president Rafa Yuste had previously described the renewal as “only a matter of time,” stressing that Flick is very happy at the club and has adapted quickly to the atmosphere in Barcelona.
The Catalan club had reportedly been working on extending Flick’s contract since April as part of the long-term sporting project led by Laporta, which officially begins on July 1.
