Fawry Launches E-Payment Service for Electricity Bills

In cooperation with the Egyptian Electricity Holding Co., Fawry the leading company in digital transformation and electronic payments has launched new service for citizens to inquire and pay electricity bills from home easily through the Egyptian Electricity Holding Co. website https://www.eehc.gov.eg/eehcportal/,

The new service offers citizens an easy way for paying their bills through the EEHC link above, enter the mobile number, then make a selection for their affiliated electricity company and enter the electronic payment number (fixed number on the receipt stub). This service is applied for nine electricity companies all over Egypt.

Dr. Khaled Al-Destawi "Vice President of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Co." revealed the 9 electricity companies through which citizens can pay electricity bills electronically from home are: South Cairo Electricity Distribution Co., North Cairo EDC., Middle Egypt EDC., North Delta EDC., South Delta EDC., Canal Company for Electricity Distribution, Upper Egypt Electricity Production Company, El Behera EDC. and Alexandria EDC.

By paying through Fawry platform and its various channels, time and effort of citizens will be saved as well as overcoming traditional payment methods, that are in line with the state's policies towards digital transformation.

On the other hand, Ashraf Sabry, CEO of Fawry, stressed that the main goal of Fawry is to provide different payment channels, as well as e-payment services through EEHC website -using credit cards- through FawryPay.

Payments can also be through more than 15 mobile wallets, including: "Vodafone Cash , Orange Cash , Etisalat Cash , NBE-PhoneCash , Ma7fazty Mobile Application-Bank of Alexandria , BM Wallet-Banque Misr , BLOM Bank , CIB Smart Wallet , Credit Agricole Egypt , National Bank of Abu Dhabi , Bank Audi , Floosy Mobile Wallet-Housing and Development Bank , QNB Bank , Suez Canal Bank , NBK Bank , and bank ATMs (more than 10,000 ATMs) and more than 141,000 outlets accept payments using bank cards.

Sabry also pointed out that the service that has been activated recently by Fawry and will be available on the Egyptian Electricity Holding Co. website soon.

As an output of a partnership of success and the continuous development for more than 8 years, Fawry will also announce soon the availability of charging prepaid electricity cards from home.

"Fawry also provides services for paying other bills using bank cards through many of Fawry outlets, which have reached more than 141,000 outlets in all Egypt governorates." Sabry concluded.

Fawry serves more than 25 million customers per month, with more than 2.75 million transactions per day for more than 500 services including telecom bills, tickets and tourism, online payments, various utilities, insurance, school and university fees, donations, financial payments and banks, subscriptions and ads, and renewal of car license.

All these transactions are done through one big network of 33 banks and more than 141,000 outlets across Egypt, 2500+ branches for post offices.
