Father of South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, renowned economist Yoon Ki Jung passed away on Tuesday, at the age of 92.
Yoon Ki-jung, who was an emeritus professor at Yonsei University, was transferred to Seoul National University Hospital in Seoul, according to South Korea's Yonhap news agency.
President Yoon went to the hospital immediately after the Liberation Day ceremony, which was held at Ewha Women's University, on Monday, where he stayed with his father during his final moments.
Yoon's office said he has decided to hold a private funeral with only family members so that there would be "no vacuum in state affairs," without elaborating.
