A tragic accident involving the Senegalese second-division side Jadiaga FC has left one player dead and several others injured after the team bus crashed in eastern Senegal.
According to reports cited by RMC Sport, the accident occurred near the village of Bala as the team was returning from a league match.
The crash resulted in the death of goalkeeper Serigne Fallou Dieye, who succumbed to severe injuries. Around 20 players and staff members were also injured, with several reported to be in critical condition.
All victims were transported to Tambacounda Hospital for medical treatment, as shock and grief spread across the Senegalese football community.
The Senegalese Football Federation expressed condolences to the player’s family, teammates, and loved ones.
The club also released a statement mourning the loss, describing the late goalkeeper as an irreplaceable figure within the team.
Authorities in Senegal have launched an urgent investigation to determine the circumstances and causes of the accident.
