Iconic Artist and Former Minister of Culture Farouk Hosny mourned the death of veteran interviewer Mofeed Fawzy who died early Saturday.
Hosny said in a statement: "I sorrowly mourn the death of the iconic writer, and noble interviewer Mofeed Fawzy who was a dear friend and had great value in the Arab World's media. Praying to God Almighty to bless him with His mercy and inspire his family, and students patience and solace."
This morning, Fawzy passed away after battling illness for several weeks.
The tragic news was announced by journalist Mostafa Bakry on Twitter.
Bakry wrote: "Mofeed Fawzy passed away after a long battle with illness. He spent almost a month in a hospital."
He concluded his tweet by sending his condolences to the late icon's family, praying for his soul.
