On Thursday, Farouk Hosny Foundation organized the first art awards seminar at the Al Hanager Center for Arts.
The first seminar was dedicated to Painting, its major concepts, and trends. "What's Painting?" hosted by Painting Art Award jury members.
The jury of the painting award included Dr. Aleya Abdel Hadi, the former dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Arts, University of Petra, artist Dr. Hussein Al Shaboury, artist Mohamed Abla, artist Samir Fouad, and Dr. Ahmed Ragab Saqr, the former Dean of Faculty of Fine Arts, Minya University.
The winners of the 2023 Painting Awards participated in the two-hour event, alongside a number of the foundation's members.
There was deep interaction between the speakers and the audience about the definition of painting, and their vision of it.
Abla said that painters should have different experiences and strong backgrounds about the details of arts, and cultures.
He also discussed the elements of good painting, and some painting techniques.
On his side, Fouad talked about brushes, colors, and the marriage between different color schemes.
Abdel Hady talked about the signs and symbols that every painter should consider, alongside defining the concepts of innovation, creation, and authenticity.
The role of arts teachers and the importance of graphics and sculpture for the artists were tackled by Saqr.
On the other hand, Al Shaboury discussed the dimensions of the artwork, and how the painters should manage them.
The following seminar will be on March 11. It will be dedicated to the secrets of the art of photography.
The members of the Photography Art Award will participate in the event.
