Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, the Minister of Culture, paid a visit to the great artist Farida Fahmy to celebrate her and the name of the late Ali and Mahmoud Reda, as great people who formed a part of the history of art in the country.
The three are also recognized for their efforts as the real ambassadors of Egyptian creativity and heritage.
Abdel Dayem was accompanied by artist Khaled Jalal, head of the cultural production sector.
It is worthy of note that this visit came with a great hospitality of Fahmy who narrated the memories of the past, starting from the establishment of “ Reda Troupe” and the state decision to adopt it during the rule of the late President Gamal Abdel Nasser in 1961.
The group is affiliated to the Ministry of Culture, and it was managed by the two brothers: Mahmoud and Ali Reda.
Furthermore, in 1962, the troupe's performances were transferred to Metropole Theater, where Fahmy presented distinctive folkloric performances, expressing the customs and traditions of Egyptian society.
Afterwards, Mahmoud Reda cooperated with the musician Ali Ismail who established the first folkloric orchestra - under his leadership.
Fahmy remembers the troupe tours to the countries of the world and her passion of different nations with different folkloric designs.
The minister affirmed that the names of Ali and Mahmoud Reda are engraved with letters of gold in the hearts of Egyptians and Arabs.
The minister affirmed that they passed away, but they will remain immortal with their works, adding that the Egyptian state glorifies its creators who contributed to forming the conscience of the Arabic nation and to preserve Egypt’s identity and history.
Abdel Dayem indicated that the founders of Reda Troupe played an important national role and they became real ambassadors of the history of the Egyptian art throughout the world.
