Actress Mona Farouk, once considered a rising star, revealed Monday evening in an Instagram live stream that she is depressed and contemplating suicide.
In the video, she apologized to the Egyptians, expressing her deep sorrow and grief over how people and society have treated her because of her recent crisis.
“The whole time I dealt with being a pariah in society. I arrived in Dubai searching for a job, acting is not conditioned, however, I did not find any chance. I have been at home for a month,” Farouk added.
“No matter how much I pretend to be strong, I am not strong enough,” Farouk added, “I that tried to fake it, however, I grew tired of dealing with the ordeal like its normal, which is not, and I am suffocating,”
She pointed out that everybody is harassing her and that she became scared to walk in the streets, wary of people’s harassment.
Farouk revealed that no one wants to give her a chance, no director, no actor, no singer wants to allow her to act.

In 2019, pornographic videos went viral on the internet of two young actresses and a businesswoman, which featured actresses Shaimaa El-Hajj Farouk, as well as businesswoman Mona El-Ghadban.
El-Hajj, Farouk and El-Ghadban were arrested and accused of prostitution and inciting debauchery and obscenity online.
The actresses claimed that Egyptian director Khaled Youssef shot these videos of them in 2015 at his apartment in Mohandessin district.
They stated that Youssef married them both and that they obeyed all his demands to help them in their artistic career and give them roles.
Youssef traveled to Paris in March to visit his wife and daughter who reside there during the scandal.
He explained on Instagram that he didn’t escape and that he traveled to Paris before the police arrested Farouk and Haj.
Youssef is known for his controversial movies, which tackled touching issues such as rape, political corruption, and homosexuality.
