Espérance Sportive de Tunis has confirmed that the second leg of its CAF Champions League quarter-final clash against Al Ahly SC will be played without fans at Cairo International Stadium.

In an official statement released on the club’s social media channels, the Tunisian side announced that the match will take place behind closed doors following a decision issued by the disciplinary committee of the Confederation of African Football.

The club informed supporters that the ruling requires the return leg of the quarter-final, scheduled for March 21 in Cairo, to be played without spectators.

Esperance said in its statement: “Espérance Sportive de Tunis informs its loyal supporters that the second leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-final against Egypt’s Al Ahly, scheduled for March 21 at Cairo International Stadium, will be held without the presence of fans.”

The decision follows disciplinary measures imposed by CAF, though further details about the circumstances behind the sanction were not included in the club’s announcement.

The two-legged tie will begin in Tunis, where the first leg is set to be played on March 15 at 11:00 PM Cairo time.

The decisive return leg will then take place in Cairo on March 21, with kickoff scheduled for 9:00 PM Cairo time.

The clash between the African giants is expected to be one of the standout fixtures of the quarter-finals as both teams aim to secure a place in the last four of Africa’s premier club competition.
