A Dutch parliamentarian on Thursday said a fake bomb was sent to parliament in The Hague, causing the building and surrounding area to be evacuated.
Dutch police said a team specializing in explosives was investigating a “suspicious situation building in downtown The Hague.
Police added they had evacuated the area around the building, where they had asked people to leave.
Dutch anti-Islam politician Geert Wilders said a fake bomb addressed to him had been the cause of the evacuation.
“A package with a teddy bear and wires addressed to me was delivered to the mail room of parliament,” Wilders said in a post on Twitter.
