Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided the latest update on Mohamed Salah's future, confirming that Beşiktaş have made an offer for the Liverpool legend, while dismissing reports that the two parties have already reached a full agreement.

Salah became a free agent after leaving Liverpool at the end of the 2025-26 season, with the Egyptian forward attracting interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia, Major League Soccer, and Europe.

Reports from Turkey on Friday claimed that Beşiktaş had agreed personal terms with the 34-year-old after he reportedly lowered his salary demands to facilitate the move.

However, Salah's agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, quickly cast doubt on those claims by posting on social media that the player's next destination had not yet been decided.

"We still do not know where Mohamed will play next season, but we may know very soon," Abbas wrote.

Beşiktaş also released an official statement denying reports that an agreement had already been reached, describing the claims as "entirely fictional" and urging supporters to rely only on the club's official communication channels.

Romano confirmed that negotiations are taking place but stressed that the deal has not been finalized.

"Why did Beşiktaş deny the rumors? Because Salah's deal hasn't been completed yet. Before an agreement is finalized, clubs must be cautious," Romano explained on his YouTube channel.

The Italian transfer specialist added that Beşiktaş are genuinely interested in signing Salah and have submitted an offer, but the Turkish club is "maintaining discretion until reaching a comprehensive agreement."

Salah left Liverpool after an illustrious nine-year spell at Anfield, during which he established himself as one of the greatest players in the club's history. His next destination remains undecided as negotiations with interested clubs continue.
