Extraordinary European Summit Today in Brussels to Discuss Flow of Grain from Ukraine

“It is an absolute priority to reach an agreement as soon as possible to get Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea and prevent a (food tsunami),” UN agencies warn of its catastrophic consequences that could extend for years in many developing countries.

This goal has occupied the bulk of the efforts of European capitals and their diplomatic services for days, and it will be the main, and perhaps the only, file on the table of the extraordinary summit of the European Union, which begins today in Brussels.

The Europeans are well aware of the difficulty of extracting this goal from Moscow for free, especially after they went too far in sanctions and supplied Ukraine with various weapons types.

But they are sure that the consequences of the declared food disaster may be more serious than the repercussions of the war, which has entered its fourth month without looming.
