Exclusive: Sherif Madkour’s Account Hacked, Money Requested from Contacts

Egyptian TV host, Sherif Madkour revealed Sunday on Instagram that his account on Whatsapp was hacked, and asked his contacts not to give the hacker money.

Madkour was in Sharm El-Sheikh and on his return flight, the hacker took advantage of the opportunity and hacked into his phone.

The Egyptian TV host's friends and colleagues, who had him on WhatsApp, received a message from him telling them that he wanted credit- a bait many took.

Then, the hacker asked for money to be transferred from Madkour's contacts. He asked for EGP 300 to be sent to a different network service than what Madkour users.

The hacker had collected about EGP15,800.

Madkour announced Monday on Instagram and Facebook that he retrieved back his account.
