Egypt’s Prime Hospitality, a pision of Prime Group, today has announced its partnership with LaLiga, Spain’s most popular domestic league competition, to launch the country first LaLiga Lounge in the Almaza City Center, situated in the heart of Cairo.
In celebration of this milestone, LaLiga brought two of its most prominent ambassadors, Samuel Eto’o and Fernando Morientes, as well as the Director of International Institutional Relations and Director of LaLiga Ambassadors and Legends Project, Fernando Sanz, to officially launch this new space in an exclusive event.
H.E. Asraf Sobhi Minister of Sports, the legend Ahmed Hassan or the famous singer Tamer Hosni and famous actor Hany Salama were also in the inauguration.
The new sports lounge will offer football fans the opportunity to experience one of the most popular global football brands in a unique and engaging environment. The lounge will feature various facilities and amenities including big-screen televisions that will broadcast live coverage of matches, and the first themed restaurant for sports fans in Cairo.
Speaking at the event, Sanz commented: "We are proud to partner with Prime Hospitality to open this space in Egypt and take the next step in our wider expansion plans for the MENA region. Creating such a dynamic and interactive space allows football fans who have a deep passion for the sport to unite and engage together through a one of a kind experiences set in one of the most popular places in Egypt. It is another great way for them to experience LaLigafirst-hand and get closer to the competition."
He also added that Egyptians share a genuine passion for football that goes into the details of their daily routines and LaLiga is always keen on advocating Spanish football around the world with unwavering determination to create the biggest base of loyal fans outside the country’s borders; especially in the Middle East.
Former Barcelona star Eto'o expressed his happiness at the opening of the lounge in Egypt. He also stated that the La Liga symbol has expanded all across the world and he is happy it is now present in Egypt.
On the other hand, Mr. Tamer Wagih, CEO of Prime Group is happy to import all these foreign investments in Egypt. He added that for an institution as big as La Liga to have enough trust to invest in the state's economy is some that will benefit Egypt greatly both on the short and long runs.

LaLiga has a strong presence in Egypt since they started their expansion plan in MENA. Juan Fuentes, LaLiga delegate to Egypt highlighted other key projects such us a strategic partnership with Orange Egypt, LaLiga Academies with more than 150 kids, and agreement with ESLSCA Business School to bring sports management education or CSR projects with the Embassy of Spain or the UN among other collaborations.
