European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas announced that the bloc's member states decided to review the EU-Israel Association Agreement, a free trade agreement between the two sides, during their meeting on Tuesday.

The European measure comes after an Israeli decision to block the entry of aid into the Gaza Strip, according to Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp, as reported by the Dutch news agency ANP.

Kallas said, "Israel must now allow humanitarian aid into Gaza."

The European official indicated that the EU could reverse the decision, but progress on this depends on Tel Aviv's response.

Kallas said, "Imposing sanctions on violent Israeli settlers was planned, but a member state blocked it."

In a related development, the Israeli Prime Minister decided to return Tel Aviv's negotiating delegation to the Gaza ceasefire negotiations, which are being held in Qatar, while a small number of them will remain in the Gulf state to continue the discussions.
