European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell called today, Saturday, for an immediate ceasefire in Sudan during the month of Ramadan, and for the entry of aid without obstacles.
"I join NSC’s call for an immediate ceasefire and unhindered humanitarian access in Sudan to honour Ramadan, " he said on X platform.He added:" The EU is ready to sanction those who undermine country’s stability and keeps working for a ceasefire and a political transition."
Noteworthy, The Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, called for a ceasefire in Sudan during the holy month of Ramadan.
Guterres said: “In a few days, the holy month of Ramadan will begin, and during a Security Council meeting on Sudan, I made an appeal to all actors involved in the conflict to respect the cessation of hostilities during the month of Ramadan. It is time to silence the guns and raise the voice of peace.”
