Egyptian women's footballer Sarah Essam has urged Liverpool star Mohamed Salah to support the women's football in Egypt. Essam is an Egyptian professional player, who plays for the British club Stock City.

"Salah has a great influence in the Arab World. I am sure that he knows about women's football and he also knows that there is an Egyptian woman, who plays in the Premier League for Stock City," she said.

"Salah had some issues with the former Egyptian Football Association, but we all became more aware after the 2018 Fifa World Cup. I think that the new EFA will pay great attention and support to the Men's and Women's football," the Egyptian player added.

Essam also expressed her hopes to accomplish outstanding achievements with the Egyptian women's national team in the upcoming period.

"I hope that we can make significant achievements to our country, proving to the whole world that there is women's football in Egypt and we have an excellent women's national team," she concluded.

The 20-year-old player won the prestigious Golden Boot in the Premier League, as she netted twelve times, during her twelve caps with her club.

It is worth mentioning that the so-called "next Mo Salah" joined Stoke City in 2017, coming from Egypt's Wadi Degla.
