The Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 season concluded with a dramatic final round that confirmed qualification for next season’s African competitions, as Espérance de Tunis secured a place in the CAF Champions League, while CS Sfaxien clinched a Confederation Cup berth following a crucial victory over Étoile Sportive du Sahel.
Espérance de Tunis earned a hard-fought 1–0 away win against US Ben Guerdane in the final round, sealing second place in the standings and guaranteeing their participation in Africa’s premier club competition.
The decisive goal came in the 38th minute through Hamza Rafia, who converted a precise assist from Kossaila Boughaiela to break the deadlock.
The match remained tightly contested, with VAR disallowing a second goal for Espérance in first-half stoppage time, keeping the tension alive until the final whistle.
The result lifted Espérance to 63 points, finishing behind league champions Club Africain, while maintaining their strong continental legacy as four-time African champions.
Meanwhile, at the Stade Taïeb Mhiri, CS Sfaxien delivered a commanding performance to defeat Étoile Sportive du Sahel 3–1, securing third place and qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup.
Omar Ben Ali starred with an early brace, while Mohamed Salah Mehdhebi added a third goal to put the result beyond doubt. Étoile’s only reply came from Oussama Abid in the second half.
With the victory, Sfaxien ended the season on 62 points, confirming their return to continental competition and finishing the campaign on a high note in front of their supporters.
