Espérance Sportive de Tunis have officially announced the appointment of French coach Patrice Beaumelle as the club’s new head coach, replacing Maher Kanzari, who was dismissed due to poor results.
The Tunisian giants confirmed the decision in an official statement published on their X platform account, signaling a new chapter as they aim to revive their domestic and continental ambitions.
The 47-year-old Beaumelle brings significant international experience, having previously managed Morocco’s U23 national team and the Ivory Coast senior national team. At club level, he has also coached Umm Salal SC and MC Alger.
His appointment is expected to boost morale among Esperance supporters, who are eager to see the team return to winning ways and compete strongly for titles.
Esperance are set for a high-profile clash against Al Ahly SC in the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League.
The first leg is scheduled to take place at Stade Hammadi Agrebi in Radès, Tunis, between March 13 and 15, with the return leg in Cairo between March 20 and 22.
Should Al Ahly overcome Esperance, they could face a potential heavyweight semi-final encounter against Mamelodi Sundowns, who will meet Stade Malien in their own quarter-final tie.
With a new coach at the helm and a continental heavyweight awaiting, Esperance’s upcoming fixtures promise high drama in African football.
