Esperance Sportive de Tunis have officially announced the appointment of Romanian coach Laurențiu Reghecampf as head coach of the first team, marking his return to the club for a second spell.

The decision comes in the wake of the departure of French coach Patrice Beaumelle, whose tenure ended approximately one month ago as part of a wider restructuring within the club’s football operations.

In an official statement released on Monday, the Tunisian giants confirmed Reghecampf’s return but did not disclose the length of his new contract.

His appointment is part of a broader technical and administrative overhaul aimed at stabilizing the team after a turbulent period.

Reghecampf is no stranger to Esperance, having previously managed the club between November 2024 and March 2025.

During his first stint, he guided the team to the Tunisian Super Cup title, leaving a mixed but notable impression on supporters.

The coaching change follows a challenging season for the Tunisian champions, which included losing the domestic league title to arch-rivals Club Africain and being eliminated in the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League by Mamelodi Sundowns.

As part of the wider changes, club legend and former goalkeeper Chokri El Ouaer has been appointed to oversee the football section, adding a familiar and influential figure to the leadership structure.
