Late Saturday, Eritrean Capital, Asmara was rocked by sex blasts, according to the US state department.

In a post on Twitter, the US State Department said, "At 10:13 p.m. on Nov 28 there were six explosions in Asmara.", without mentioning the cause or the locations of the blasts.

Moreover, it urged Americans in the African country to remain aware of the ongoing conflict and current conditions in the Tigray region in northern Ethiopia, while taking the necessary precautions.

Tigrayan forces fighting Ethiopian soldiers have previously fired rockets at Eritrea.

It is worth mentioning that, late Saturday, Ethiopian Prime Minister (PM) Abiy Ahmed announced that his army has taken full control of the Tigray capital of Mekele, after battles that lasted about 3 weeks.

“We’ve been able to enter Mekele city without innocent civilians being targets,” Abiy was quoted as saying by Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC).
