Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the number of the Ukrainians who have arrived in Turkey due to the Russian invasion has approached 100,000.

"This number is close to 100,000," Erdogan said in a speech to the people after a cabinet meeting.

Since February 24, the Russian Armed Forces have been carrying out a special military operation to protect Donbas, in southeastern Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed earlier that Russia does not plan to occupy Ukraine, explaining that the goal of the operation is to protect people who for 8 years were subjected to prosecution and genocide by the Kyiv regime.

In response, Western countries imposed severe and unprecedented economic and financial sanctions on Russia, as well as providing billions of dollars in military support to Ukraine.
