Empower Her Art Forum Gears Up for Another Groundbreaking Edition in 2024

In its second edition, Empower Her Art Forum (EHAF 2024), founded by art curator and art event pioneer Shereen Badr, prepares to bring artists from around the world to Egypt’s National Museum of Civilizations.

 Following in its tradition as the first art forum of its kind to be hosted at the outstanding National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, Empower Her Art Forum 2024 will see a specialized hall established to accommodate its every growing plethora of over 130 artists who join from 40 different countries this year.

The opening ceremony on Saturday May 18th and the closing event on Wednesday May 22nd will bring the country’s most iconic singers and musicians in addition to international singers and performers, with Omar Khairat offering an exclusive performance on the final day at the museum’s breathtaking Roman Theatre.

The first edition of the event’s “mother forum”, the World Art Forum, was held under the auspices of numerous ministries and prestigious cultural entities while this year comes with the sponsorship and endorsement of WE Telecom Egypt, and SANAD EGYPT for women’s empowerment and numerous other sponsors.

It is moreover presented under the auspices of a valued list of ministries including the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Social Solidarity, Ministry of Immigration, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Environment and the National Council for Women. A number of key strategic partners have joined hands to support the event including the European Union, UN Women, UNHCR, the Italian Cultural Institute in Egypt, in addition to the embassies of Spain, Chile and Ireland.

Commenting on the event, Shereen Badr, said “The forum is not only the first to support women artists, but to integrate audience and artists within the differently abled and disadvantaged sectors. As part of EHAF 2024, the forum is planned to host 10 workshops along three days dedicated to visually impaired and deaf artists, as well as refugees, and facilitated by artists from 10 different countries. Besides this, each artwork on display will have a replica beside it that enables visually impaired visitors to find out more about the artwork and experience it live.”

In 2022, EHAF Founder and artist Shereen Badr participated in one of Egypt’s largest global events to date, COP 27, in its blue zone dedicated to artistic expression and innovative ideas and organisations, in addition to global arts engagements in Italy, Germany and the US.
