Emirati Artist Amena El-Hamdy launched a painting competition for talented young Egyptian artists. This came in an effort to support their artistic talents, giving them a chance to hone their skills and develop their creative abilities in the form of supporting the winners and spreading their work as future cartoonists.
Amena, an artist in the famous children’s magazine “MaJed” , announced a specific topic where the competition will be centered around which is “Forgiveness”, all while dividing the participants into two categories depending on their age. There will be a class which involves children aged from 6 to 11, while the other involves those aged between 12 and 16.
“I have chosen Forgiveness as the theme of the competition as an extension of the UAE’s launch of forgiveness in 2019 after Pope Francis Pope of the Vatican and Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb signed a document on brotherhood of humanity,” she said.
She added that the conditions of the competition will include unique children’s drawings, with the right of every child to hand in 3 drawings with quality of 300 megapixels, without copying from outside paintings or going off the topic of the competition, or sticking to a specific kind of drawing tool including wood, crayons, or collages.
Works will be accepted by June 28, in JPEG format and A3 size on the e-mail [email protected], accompanied by full name, date of birth, mailing address and telephone number.
A jury consisting of creative artist Salah Bisar, creative artist Mustafa Rahma and Cartoonist Amna Hammadi.
The prizes are as follows: first place will be rewarded 3000 Egyptian pounds, second place is 2000 Egyptian pounds, third place is 1000 Egyptian pounds or the equivalent in other currencies.
