The Embassy of India in Cairo has announced that Indian Film Week will be held from 7 to 10 December 2025 at El Hanager Cinema in the Cairo Opera House complex.
The event will attract recent Indian films to Egyptian audiences, with screenings beginning each evening at 7:00 pm Admission is free, and seating will be available on a first-come basis.
The four-day program introduces films from different regions of India, each presented in its original language with Arabic subtitles. The opening night will feature Hellaro, a Gujarati drama centered on women and social pressures.
The second night will offer Surkhi Bindi, a Punjabi film about ambition and personal struggles. The third evening will screen Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, a comedy–drama built around family and everyday life. The closing night will present Kantara, a film known for its mix of folklore, mystery, and dramatic tension.
The Embassy invited film enthusiasts, students, members of the Indian community, and the wider public to attend the screenings and enjoy four evenings of cinema that reflect India’s diverse storytelling traditions.
