EMA: weather to gradually improve from Wednesday

Mahmoud Shaheen, Director of the Weather Forecast Department at the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA), revealed that today, Tuesday was the peak of severe weather.

In a phone-in with "Al Mehwar" channel, Shaheen predicted that there are chances of light to moderate rain to prevail the country until Wednesday morning.

'The weather will begin to improve in Egypt from Wednesday.'  he added.

Shaheen stressed the need for citizens to follow the weather forecast in the coming period.

Furthermore, it is predicted that the country will witness a rise in the temperature and moderate climate, during daylight hours on Wednesday.

Moderate rains are foreseen to hit intermittently in Damietta, Port Said, Al-Arish, Ras Sidra and El Tor. It is predicted that torrential rains will prevail in North and Central Sinai.

Light and moderate rain are predicted to fall in Zafarana, Ras Ghareb, Hurghada and Qusair, at intermittent periods.

Winds will be active in South Sinai and North Upper Egypt.

Temperatures predicted for the following cities are: 20C in Cairo, 19C in Alexandria, 18C in Marsa Matruh, 22C in Sohag, 23C in Qena and 24C in Aswan.
