Elon Musk says his artificial intelligence chatbot xAI Grok 3, a ChatGPT competitor, will launch with a live demo at 8 p.m. PT on Monday.
Earlier this week, Musk said Grok 3 was in the final stages of development and would launch in about a week or two.
“Grok 3 has very strong reasoning capabilities, and from the tests we’ve done so far, it outperforms any model that’s been released to date, to the best of our knowledge, so that’s a good sign,” Musk said.
Elon Musk founded xAI to compete with both Microsoft-backed OpenAI and Alphabet Inc’s Google. He was also a co-founder of OpenAI.
An investor alliance led by Elon Musk has made a $97.4 billion bid to acquire the assets of the nonprofit OpenAI, in a new escalation by the American billionaire against the artificial intelligence startup. OpenAI has rejected the offer, which is seeking to transform into a for-profit company in order to secure the funding needed to develop advanced artificial intelligence models.
