Lebanese superstar, Elissa released Sunday her new song "El Okd" on YouTube.
Fans were shocked to see the track removed from its platform due to the Watary record company blocking it on copyright grounds.
However, the superstar took to social media to reassure fans that they still can hear the song on music platforms.
"My contract with Watary originally ended on August 12, but it seems that the company managed to stop the video on YouTube based on an expired contract, but this does not prevent you from listening to the song on all the applications that are available on it," she wrote on X.
"The problem was solved, and today, more than ever, I am validated that the most important decision I made with the Watary company was leaving it."
"El Okd" witnesses the first collaboration between Elissa and Egyptian acclaimed lyricist and poet Ayman Bahgat Kamar. It is the second song to be released from her highly anticipated 13th album.
The album witnessed several delays in the past period after it was initially set to be released during the New Year's season and the Eid Al-Fitr.
The album is slated to have 12 tracks and is set to arrive in October.
Elissa has been the highest-selling female Middle Eastern artist since 2005. She sold over 30 million albums worldwide.
In 2005, she became the first Lebanese singer to be awarded the World Music Award for Best Selling Middle Eastern Artist, an award that she earned once again in 2006 and 2010.
The singer is often referred to as “Maliket El Ehsas” (Queen of Emotions) by fans and the media.
Elissa’s artistic journey began in 1992 when she won the silver medal in the Lebanese music competition “Studio El Fan”.
The singer’s debut studio album, “Baddy Doub” (I Want to Melt), was released by EMI Music Arabia in 1999.
