Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has invited U.S. President Donald Trump to visit Cairo and attend the signing ceremony of a potential ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, once a deal is reached, according to political sources.

The invitation reflects Egypt’s confidence in the progress of ongoing negotiations and signals growing expectations that talks may soon produce a framework to end the fighting in Gaza. It also serves as an indirect message urging Israel to show greater flexibility to help finalize an agreement.

The move underscores Egypt’s leading diplomatic role in efforts to restore stability and promote peace in the region. Negotiations are continuing in the resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh, where Egyptian officials are mediating between delegations from Israel, Hamas, the United States, and Qatar.

Egypt has been at the center of diplomatic efforts to halt the conflict in Gaza since its escalation last year, working closely with the United States, Qatar, and the United Nations. The talks have focused on achieving a permanent ceasefire, facilitating humanitarian aid, and paving the way for reconstruction in the Gaza Strip.

President El-Sisi and his American counterpart maintained close cooperation during Trump’s first term, particularly on regional security and counterterrorism efforts. The invitation is seen as a continuation of that partnership and a reflection of Egypt’s commitment to advancing peace initiatives in the Middle East.
