The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Sunday that Al Ahly goalkeeper, Mohamed El Shennawi, was crowned best player award in the clash against Morocco's Wydad, on Saturday, in the 1st leg of CAF Champions League semi-finals.
It is noteworthy that El Shennawi kept a clean sheet throughout the match, and saved a penalty kick near half-time, winning everyone's respect and praise.
The CAF tweeted: “Officially, the Total award for the best player in the semi-final first-leg match between Wydad and Al Ahly goes to Mohamed El Shennawi.”
The Confederation also included a video showing El Shenawwi's most prominent saves during the match.
