Egypt's goalkeeper, Mohamed El Shenawy, increased his international appearances for the national team in the Africa Cup of Nations to 15 matches after playing against Ivory Coast yesterday in the quarter-finals of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
El Shenawy has played 14 matches for Egypt across four editions of the Africa Cup of Nations, starting with the 2019 tournament.
In the current edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, El Shenawy has featured in four of Egypt's five matches so far, against Zimbabwe, South Africa, Benin, and Ivory Coast. The national team coaching staff gave Mostafa Shobeir the opportunity to start against Angola in the final group stage match.
