El Salvadoran authorities have arrested the president of Alianza FC, Pedro Hernandez, two managers, and two other people in El Salvador for being the possible culprits in the accident at the Cuscatlan stadium, which left 12 fans dead and hundreds injured.
The newspaper "El Salvador" indicated that those detained, in addition to Hernandez, are the security and financial directors of the team, Edwin Abarca Ventura and Zoila Cordova, respectively.
Prosecutors in El Salvador will file charges of manslaughter, premeditated murder, and public disorder.
The source added, "Negligence in organization and greed when selling caused a human stampede that caused loss of life, as well as injuries, and endangered the safety of attendees."
