El-Gouna Gearing Up to Host 12th Int'l Squash Open

The city of El Gouna, which is one of the marvelous cities of Orascom Development Company in the Red Sea Governorate, is all set to host the 12th edition of the El Gouna International Squash Open 2024 for Men and Women Platinum PSA.

The tournament is scheduled to be held from April 19 to 26 at the El Gouna Conference and Cultural Centre and will be organized by "ievents" Company. It is one of the eight largest squash tournaments in the world and is sponsored by the Ministries of Youth and Sports, Tourism and Antiquities, and the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion. The official sponsor of the tournament is the Commercial International Bank - Egypt (CIB), the main supporter of squash in Egypt.

More than 96 internationally ranked players from 22 countries will participate in the tournament, which will result in many outcomes that affect the global rankings of the players. The players will compete to win huge financial prizes amounting to $350,000. The tournament is one of the most significant Platinum tournaments of the International Federation of Professional Squash (PSA) and coincides with the inclusion of squash as part of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.

The 11th edition of the El Gouna International Squash Championship for Men and Women Platinum PSA, which took place last year, witnessed the crowning of Nouran Gohar and Ali Farag.

This year, the tournament is sponsored by Carrier and Fanadir Marina as the platinum sponsor, and BMW as the official automotive partner. The silver sponsor is CI Capital, while On Time Sports is the official media partner. Catering 360 is the official sponsor of catering services.
