CAIRO, Dec.6 (SEE) - A signing of a partnership contract took place between Gezira Sporting Club and the largest Electronic Payment Network in Egypt 'Fawry', to launch the first digital club in Egypt via mobile phones. Thanks to this cooperation, Egyptian clubs are now on the world's digital map.
The event was celebrated on Monday at the Club. Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat, and Ahmed Gomaa, on behalf of the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, were amongst the attendees.
The partnership came under the umbrella of Fawry's plan to apply the policy of cashless society, amongst all the Egyptian society's categories and classes.
El-Gezira Board of Director's Chairman Amr El-Gezarin gave more details about the agreement saying "This agreement aims at facilitating payment tools used for the club's services, via a mobile application, as the members' commodity is our priority."
In this regard, Fawry's Executive Director Ashraf Sabry added "Through El-Gezira's application, members can renew their membership, reserve sports fields, pay the sports schools' fees, buy several items in the cub via cellular phones. El-Gezira's members can also enjoy more than 400 services provided by Fawry."
Mohamed Okasha, Fawry's Managing Director, concluded "Financial benefit is not solely our target. Speaking about our partnership with El-Gezira, the club is a non-profit entity that is working to improve services provided to its members, through Fawry. So we are pleased to take part in the society's development."
