El Feki Praises Egypt’s Festival of Puppetry

Egypt’s Festival of Puppetry concluded its activities yesterday. The event was taken place at Beit Al Sennari supervised by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA).

BA Director Dr. Mostafa El Feki showed his appreciation to the concept of reviving the Egyptian cultural and social heritage.

Feki expressed that the festival of Puppetry symbolizes Egypt’s cultural place, because it was one of the earliest countries in the region that had puppets theaters performances.

In the same context, BA gives care of preserving the Egyptian traditions and documenting it including Puppetry.

Furthermore, Dr. Nabil Bahgat, the founder of the festival, underscored that the idea of employing the symbol of Puppetry arts is to express the notions of the national identity.

It also reflects the nation’s appreciation to effective cultural figure who affected the cultural scene.

Moreover, various cultural figures were awarded yesterday such as Foad Hadad, and Sayed Higab.
