Pharaohs’ new head coach Hossam El-Badry has called up six foreign-based players for the Egyptian national team’s second camp under the helm of the Egyptian tactician
El Badry named Liverpool’s star Mohamed Salah, Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet (Aston Villa), Mohamed El Neny (Besiktas), Ahmed Hassan Koka ( Braga), Ahmed Hegazy( West Bromwich), and Mahmoud Kahraba for the seven-time African champions’ upcoming camp.
The Pharaohs are set to face Kenya and the Comoros in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Egypt are set to kick off their adventure versus Kenya on the 15th November before travelling to face the Comoros four days later.
Kahraba was called for the first time since the 2018 World Cup, held in Russia.
The training camp will start on 28th October due to the interruption of domestic football as the U-23 AFCON will be kicked off in Egypt from November 8 to November 22.
On the other hand, the foreign-based players will not available before November 11, due to their commitment with their teams.
Noteworthy, the former Al Ahly manager led the Pharaohs to secure their first victory under his leadership versus Botswana in a friendly game held at Borg Al Arab Stadium on 15th October.
The Pharaohs were picked in Group G alongside Kenya, Togo, and Comoros. 48 teams were pided into 12 groups of 4 teams and the top two sides from each group will earn a ticket to the 2021 showpiece tournament in Cameroon.
