Egypt's U19 Defeat Sweden in World Championship

Egypt's U19 handball national team made the ideal start to the 2019 Men's Youth World Championship by defeating Sweden 32-29.

The Pharaohs ended the first half with a 16-15 victory.

Egypt were pooled in Group B alongside France, Hungary, Sweden, Canada, Chinese Taipei, and Taipei.

The Arab country will play its second game against France, who will kick off their adventure versus Canada later today.

Egypt's player Hesham Ahmed was selected as the best player in the game.

24 teams, who participated in this tournament, pided into four groups of 6 teams.

Here are the Groups:

Group A: Croatia - Spain - Slovenia - Norway - Chile - Saudi Arabia.

Group B: Sweden - France - Hungary - Egypt - China - Canada.

Group C: Denmark, Bahrain, Macedonia, Japan, Argentina, and Nigeria.

Group D: Iceland, Germany, Serbia, Tunisia, Brazil, and Portugal

Egypt's upcoming clashes are as follows:

Egypt Vs. France on Wednesday, August 7 at 16:30 CLT.

Egypt Vs. Chinese Taipei on Friday, August 9 at 14:30 CLT.

Egypt Vs. Canada on Saturday, August 10 at 20:30 CLT.

Egypt Vs. Hungary on Monday, August 12 at 12:30 pm CLT.

It is worth mentioning that Egypt's U20 achieved the bronze medal at the Men’s Junior U21 World Championship in Spain.

The African Champions delivered an impressive performance during the tournament, as they became the first non-European team to achieve the full mark during the group stage in this tournament since 2009 when Brazil managed to do so.
