Egyptian National Railways (ENR) reported strong passenger demand for its newly launched Premium service, with all seats sold out on the second scheduled journey of the service.
The train, number 905/916, departed Cairo’s Ramses Station on Friday, August 22, 2025, bound for Alexandria, highlighting early public confidence in the quality of the new offering.
The Premium service was inaugurated just a day earlier, on Thursday, as part of ENR’s broader modernization strategy to enhance passenger experience and align with international standards. Designed to deliver exceptional comfort and convenience, the service introduces a range of exclusive amenities, including: fully equipped, air-conditioned waiting lounges at departure stations with hospitality services and display screens.
Modern carriages with ergonomically designed seats for maximum comfort.
A dedicated customer service team has also been deployed to assist passengers with inquiries and support throughout their journey. Additionally, Premium travelers receive a 10% discount on purchases and services at retail outlets inside Cairo and Sidi Gaber stations.
ENR emphasized that the new service is available for booking through multiple channels, including mobile applications and traditional ticketing outlets, ensuring accessibility for all travelers.
Officials said the initiative is part of the authority’s comprehensive railway development plan, aimed at delivering a more efficient, reliable, and comfortable travel experience for millions of passengers.
